Chip Fasciana is the organizer and curator of this show, Obsequi.

Over the past five years, he has converted a myriad of vacant buildings into beautiful spaces to host one-night, well-attended art events that have gained critical acclaim. He started with a show in a vacant Deli (soon to be two friends' Cheesecake Machismo). He and five friends displayed their work for a humble, yet enthused crowd.

Fasciana soon teamed up with two area artists to form The Albany Underground Artists. The next 3 years proved to be a whirlwind of success, hosting shows in old bakeries, huge, majestic old banks, and old warehouses in Manhattan.  Crrently, Fasciana is changing gears with this show. Instead of hosting a room full of artists' existing artwork, this show is built from scratch. Every piece in this show was prepared specifically for this event, more along the lines of a large installation rather than art show.

Chip Fasciana is an independent artist living and working in Alabny, New York, He is a painter, an Installation artist,singer/songwriter, assemblage-maker, o.k. Photgrapher, and   plays a mean game of hoops on occasion.

A few yearsago, Chip wore a suit and tie, and worked for Johnson and Johnson. He made a 180 degree life change and has since studied sculpture and shown his paintings, built Installations, and displayed his sculpture and assemblage work in various prestigious locations, including The Albany Institute of History and Art, The Pinetree Group gallery building in Manhattan, Albany Center Galleries, and many more.

Overthe past few years, Chip Fasciana has organized a good number of art shows in vacant buildings throughout the Albany and New York City area. He is one of the main forming members of the former Albany Underground Artists. He has not only shown his work, but has assisted over 300 artists in displaying  their work to expansive audiences.

Chip Fascianapecialized in turning defunct-vacant spaces into beautiful and interesting venues to display art to the public via one-night art shows. He also works diligently on his own artwork, and has various collectors in the region.

This past summer, Chip and fellow artist Jesse Matulis completed a large mural project, atop the new Pine Bush Discovery Center on Route 155 in Albany.

He continues to look for interesting and new projects to work on.
